After downloading the firmware update file, decompress this first compressed file that includes the IPSet utility, then use the IPSet to update the firmware to the unit. Run the IPSet on your PC and enter you units admin password into the password field in the utility. There is no need to open or decompress the second file that contains the firmware code. Just browse to the compressed file when running the IPSet utility then enter your units login admin password (into IPSet), then choose “Update”.

The 400 series firmware is backwards compatible and can be updated to the previous generation securityProbes. If you are upgrading from the 385 series of firmware or a version older than this, then you will need to backup your units settings before this migration as some settings may be lost during the update to the 400 series of firmware. ACHTUNG NICHT FÜR DIE SECURITYPROBE-5ES!

You should use IPSet to load new firmware releases onto your sensorProbe. This program also allows you to automatically detect or set the IP address of your sensorProbe – handy if you have forgotten the IP address, or can’t access the device through a web browser. Another useful feature is a button that displays the routing table details of your LAN. Note: Older versions of IPSet may not work with the latest sensorProbe2 firmware.

This is a free utility that allows you to log sensor data directly to a PC on the same LAN as your sensorProbe. dataCollect, has the advantages of an unlimited number of readings, the ability to collect data from multiple sensorProbes simultaneously, and a fast collection frequency.
The program also has automatic recovery from networking errors.

Configure v3.3 This GUI based program allows you to save your sP2 or sP8 configuration as a text file. You can restore this configuration by choosing the option “Set Configuration” and browsing to the saved file. You can set the configuration on multiple sensorProbes at the same time. It also allows you to restore the sensorProbe to its factory configuration.

The downloaded data is stored in a text file in “comma-delimited” format, and can easily be read into a spreadsheet program such as MS Excel. Note: Older version may not work with the latest sensorProbe2 firmware.
